Philippe Le Jeune was born in Uccle , Belgium , on 15 June 1960 and started riding (on a pony) at the age of seven. At the age of 12 he got his first horse and participated in a national competition, where he became fourth. At the age of fifteen, he became tenth in the final of the Botte d'Or in Brussels with Gentleman Jim .

He decided to focus entirely on equestrian sports. With his coach Eric Wauters he participates in various international competitions, such as the European championship and the Botte d'Or. In 1982 he participated for the first time on behalf of Belgium in the Nations Cup , in Rome , with Starlight . Later that year he wins the Jumping of Brussels and the Nations Cup of Rotterdam . In 1983 he went to Nelson Pessoa . In the same year he wins the Belgian championship with Faon Rouge , he is fifth in the Grand Prix of the Jumping of Brussels and third in the Grand Prix of Bordeaux.

From 1986 he lives in Switzerland for three years, where he rides for Mr Robiani . His next horse is Nistria , with which he achieves great success. Among other things, he wins his first World Cup in Antwerp .

He achieved his greatest success in 2010. At the World Equestrian Games in LexingtonUSA, he becomes the World Jumping Champion riding Vigo D'arsouilles. He wins also team bronze. After the preliminary rounds, Le Jeune was second, behind Olympic champion Eric Lamaze . In the final, in which the four participants have to complete the course on their own horse and that of the opponents, Le Jeune was the only one to remain clear. He succeeded his compatriot Jos Lansink. In addition to the individual world title, he also won bronze in the country competition with the Belgian team. At the end of 2010, he was awarded the National Trophy for Sports Merit.
